I am the Science Coordinator at National Presbyterian School, an independent Nursery – 6th grade school in northwest Washington, DC. I teach science to students in 4th – 6th grades and support the homeroom teachers’ science instruction. Each grade explores earth & space, physical and life science topics every year.
In addition to my work at NPS, I serve as a Peer Leader for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Planet Stewards Education Program. I support a group of teachers working to develop fundable grant proposals for student stewardship, education, and action projects related to local and global environmental issues.
I am passionate about service learning – integrating student-led service projects into the curriculum, giving them the skills and capacity to be empowered agents of change in their communities and the world.
